WINONA, Minn. — Saint Mary's University sophomores Rebecca Snyder (Eden Prairie, Minn.) and Bailey Edwards were named to the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference singles and doubles teams, while Cardinal head coach Jeff Halberg shared MIAC Coach of the Year honors, the conference office announced Friday.

PETER, Minn. — The Saint Mary’s University women’s tennis team, making its first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament appearance since the tournament changed to allow just the conference’s top six teams in 2007, kicks off post-season play with a match against St. Olaf on Friday at noon at the Gustavus Adolphus College Brown Courts.

WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's tennis team had to wait a week to see if their 4-6 conference record would be good enough to earn the Cardinals a berth in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, and Saturday afternoon — thanks to Macalester's 5-4 win over Concordia — they found out it was, as SMU landed the No. 6 seed in the six-team tournament and will square off against third-seeded St. Olaf at noon on Friday in St. Peter, Minn.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's tennis team closed out their regular season on a high note Sunday, collecting a 7-2 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over Hamline. With the win, SMU improved to 4-6 in conference play, leaving them tied in the win column with St. Catherine for the sixth and final MIAC playoff berth. The Wildcats, however, still have two conference matches remaining — Tuesday at St. Thomas (6-2) and Friday at home against St. Olaf (7-2) — leaving the Cardinals to wait and see what the future holds.

Andrew Warren
Baseball
Warren hit a team-leading .435 in the Cardinals' seven games last week, collecting 10 hits in 23 at-bats. He also scored five times and drove in three runs as SMU went 3-4 in its seven contests last week. The junior left-fielder finished with 11 total bases an a .478 slugging percentage. He also made 56 putouts with three assists defensively.

Softball
Stenseth hit .467 in the Cardinals' eight games last week, collecting 14 hits — including four doubles — in 30 at-bats. The SMU freshman, who also scored five runs and drove in seven, boasted a .600 slugging percentage and a .484 on-base percentage, while making seven putouts in left field.

Sarah Gardner collected 17 kills Wednesday evening vs. Viterbo, giving the SMU senior 1,007 kills for her career. She is the 10th player in SMU volleyball history to eclipse the 1,000 career kills mark.
