ST. PAUL, Minn. — It's been a busy week for Saint Mary's University diver
Liz Flynn (Mahtomedi, Minn.).
A busy, record-breaking week.
For the second time in four days, Flynn was attacking the Cardinal record book Friday evening, as the senior broke her own school record in the 11-dive, three-meter diving competition at the St. Thomas Diving Invitational.
Flynn, who rewrote her old record in the six-dive, three-meter event at the St. Olaf/Carleton Diving Invitational on Tuesday, was at it again on Friday, compiling 383.20 points to finish second.
Flynn also placed eighth in the one-meter (293.45), while teammate
Sarah Jansen (Manitowoc, Wis.) was 10th on both the one-meter (261.40) and three-meter (233.65). Brian Baker (Wykoff, Minn.) added a sixth in the one-meter (293.45) and a fifth on the three-meter (321.10) — with both totals personal bests for the Cardinal sophomore.
“It was a good meet for all of our divers,” said SMU diving coach
Jeremiah Jackson. “Six hours of diving with just a 15-minute break was a challenge for everyone, but they all pulled through with some impressive scores.”
The Cardinals are all back in action next Thursday-Saturday, as they take part in the three-day Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships at the University of Minnesota.
