: The Cardinals scored first, but Adrian scored more often, as the Bulldogs second nine unanswered goals — four in Saturday's 5-1 nonconference win and six more in Sunday's 6-0 victory — in sweeping the teams' first-ever meetings.  … Lindenwood, meanwhile, has not played since Nov. 22-23, when the Lions picked up back-to-back, 4-1, 7-0 wins over Liberty (Va.).

Last Meeting: The two teams split their exhibition series in the teams' first-ever meetings a year ago. Lindenwood pelted the SMU net with 17 first-period shots, then erupted for three goals in each of the last two periods en route to a 7-0 victory over the Cardinals at the SMU Ice Arena on Nov. 2. SMU turned the tables in the rematch a day later, Amy Zimniewicz and Jenn Shire collected goals, and Emily Friedl and Brittany Lemke combined to make 22 saves, as SMU grounded the high-flying Lions 2-1.

Cardinal Notes: The Cardinals' 5-1 loss to Adrian on Saturday snapped their season-high two-game winning streak while Sunday's 6-0 loss marked the second time this season SMU has been shut out. … Katie Cachey (Orland Park, Ill.) accounted for SMU's lone goal vs. the Bulldogs Saturday. It was her team-leading fifth goal of the season and her third in the last two games. … Francie Steger (Chicago, Ill.) picked up her team-leading third assist vs. Adrian Saturday. …  Madeline Lenz (White Bear Lake, Minn.) stopped 24 shots in Saturday's loss, then added a perfect 12-save second period in relief of Erin Johnson-Buscemi (Orono, Minn.) — and has now stopped 221 of the 245 shots she's faced this season (.902 save percentage). … With their two losses vs. Adrian, the Cardinals have now been swept in three of their four two-game series this season (4-1, 3-0 vs. Gustavus, 5-2, 2-0 vs. Concordia and 5-1, 6-0 vs. Adrian). … Adrian's six goals Sunday were the most allowed by the Cardinals this season, and the most since Bethel netted six in a 6-3 win on Feb. 9, 2008. … SMU has scored five goals in each of its three wins — a 5-4 victory over UW-Eau Claire, and 5-3 and 5-2 victories vs. Hamline. … By giving up five goals to the Bulldogs on Saturday and six on Sunday, SMU has now allowed three or more goals in 17 of its last 19 games, and 26 of its last 34. … SMU's 5-3 win at Hamline on Dec. 5 was the first road victory of the season for the Cardinals, who are now 3-14-2 on the road in their last two seasons. … The Cardinals, who scored just nine power play goals a year ago, have already equaled that mark this season — thanks to powerplay goal No. 9 by Katie Cachey (Orland Park, Ill.) on Saturday.

Lion Notes: Lindenwood comes into today's game boasting a seven-game winning streak. … The Lions have won two of the last three ACHA national championships, sandwiching national titles in 2006 and 2008 around a runner-up finish in 2007. …  The Lions have outscored their opponents 45-5 during their seven-game run — including shutout wins over Liberty (Va.) (7-0) and Northern Michigan (12-0 and 10-0). … Lindenwood has scored 87 goals in 16 games, while allowing just 19. … The Lions have been shutout 3-0 in each of their two losses, while also giving up three goals in a 3-3 tie vs. Michigan State. … Mandy Olson leads the team with 15 goals and is one of three Lions boasting 10 or more goals. … Olson also shares the team lead in points (25) with Ashley Rebeck, who has also dished out a team-best 13 assists. … Lindenwood has nine players with at least 10 points. … The Lions have used four different goalies in their 16 games.
