Last Action: The Cardinals pushed their season-opening winning streak to two Saturday afternoon, getting three goals from Amy Sibik (Onalaska, Wis.) in a 4-2 nonconference win over Central-Iowa. Crown, meanwhile, dropped its second straight — both to MIAC opponents — falling to Hamline 4-0 on Saturday.

Last Meeting: Today's game between the Cardinals and the Storm is the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

SMU Cardinal Notes: With their two nonconference wins last weekend, the Cardinals improved to 30-2-1 in their last 33 non-league contests — with both losses coming against UW-Stout. SMU is now 30-5-2 in nonconference play since the start of the 2004 season. … Amy Sibik (Onalaska, Wis.), who has led the Cardinals in scoring in each of her first two seasons, scored once and assisted on another in SMU's season-opening 2-1 win over Simpson last Friday, then followed that up with three goals vs. Central on Saturday. … Sibik's three-goal effort vs. the Dutch was her first collegiate hat trick. The junior forward had scored two goals in a game five times, but had never netted a hat trick. … Dana Winkler (Lake Geneva, Wis.) accounted for SMu's other goal vs. Simpson, while Keirra Metcalfe (Pickering, Ontario) netted the Cardinals' other goal vs. Central. … Mariana Sanchez (Puebla, Mexico) has stopped five of the six shots she's faced thus far this season, compiling a 0.54 goals-against-average and an .833 save percentage. …  All three goals scored vs. the Cardinals have come in the second half. SMU, meanwhile, has scored three times in each half. … SMU will play three of its next four games at home, where the Cardinals were 1-5-1 a year ago.

Crown Storm Notes: Crown is still looking for its first goal of the 2009 season, having been shut out by both Bethel (9-0) and Hamline (4-0). … The Storm have been outshot 16-4 through their first two games of the season. … With their two losses to open the 2009 season, the Storm have now lost five straight and are winless in their last eight games (0-7-1), dating back to a 5-0 win over Presentation College on Oct. 11, 2008. Crown has been outscored 30-4 during that eight-game span.
