MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. — The Saint Mary’s University men’s hockey team, coming off another heartbreaking loss — this time a 4-3 setback at the hands of St. Thomas on Friday at the SMU Ice Arena — hit the road for their rematch with the Tommies, traveling to the St. Thomas Ice Arena for a 7 p.m. conference contest vs. UST.

Last Night: The Cardinals jumped out to a 2-0 first-period lead and held a 3-2 advantage heading into the final 20 minutes, but St. Thomas scored two goals in the third period — the first 1:27 into the period and the second with 10 minutes remaining — as the Tommies rallied for a
4-3 conference win at the SMU Ice Arena.
Saint Mary’s Cardinal Notes: Morgan Shepherd (Brainerd, Minn.) scored two of SMU’s three goals Friday.
