WINONA, Minn. —
Jason Horstman (Faribault, Minn.) enjoyed a stellar season between the pipes for the Saint Mary's University men's hockey team.
And Monday, the Cardinal freshman was honored for his efforts, as Horstman was named honorable-mention All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Horstman, who appeared in 10 of the Cardinals' 16 conference games, faced 328 shots shots, turning away 292 — including a season-high 42 against Concordia on Nov. 14 — in posting a 4.03 goals-against-average and an .890 save percentage.
For the season, Horstman started 14 of the team's 25 games, stopping 442 of 502 shots en route to a 429 goals-against-average and an .880 save percentage. He stopped 40 of more shots three times and was in goal for SMU's 3-1 win over Concordia and the Cardinals' 4-4 tie vs. Nichols.
