WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University tennis teams made it look easy Friday evening — twice.
The Cardinal men cruised to a 9-0 nonconference victory over North Central at the Winona Tennis Center Friday, and, not to be outdone, the Cardinal women matched their male counterparts with a 9-0 win of their own over the Rams.
The SMU men dominated the Rams, winning all six singles matches in straight sets — dropping just seven games in the process — while also losing just one game in sweeping the three doubles matches 8-1, 8-0 and 8-0.
The SMU women also came up with a straight-set singles sweep — winning three of the six matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores, and losing just 15 games — while completing the sweep with 8-6, 8-4, 8-0 wins in the three doubles matches.
