MOUNT VERNON, Iowa — After back-to-back conference contests, the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota men's soccer team steps out of MIAC play on Wednesday, traveling to Cornell for a 4:30 p.m. showdown with the Rams.

Saturday's loss to Carleton marked the first time this season the Cardinals have lost on their home turf—Saint Mary's opened the season with home wins over North Central (Minn.) and Bethany Lutheran. … Saturday's loss to the Knights also marked the first time this season the Cardinals have been held off the scoreboard—snapping a streak of four straight games in which Saint Mary's netted two or more goals. … The Cardinals have scored a season-high four goals twice—blanking both North Central and Bethany Lutheran 4-0. … Last Wednesday's loss at Augsburg snapped the Cardinals' season-high three-game unbeaten streak (2-0-1). … Jim Dreshar (Hugo, Minn.) had his five-game point streak snapped against Carleton.
