GameDay PreveiwMILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University men's tennis team pushed its winning streak to six straight Sunday afternoon—but nothing about the Cardinals' 8-1 victory came easy.
The Cardinals picked up wins in two of the three doubles matches, and survived three, three-set matches en route to a sweep of the six singles matches—and win No. 6 in a row.
"That was a great win over a reigning conference championship team," said Saint Mary's coach
Jeff Halberg. "We were a little tired (having beaten both Carroll and Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday), but we stayed tough.
"This match was a great end to a very successful weekend."
The doubles teams of
Tim Wolford (Maple Grove, Minn.)-
Collin Kaczorowski (Suamico, Wis.) and
Alex Holm (Red Wing, Minn.)-
Blake Olmscheid (Farmington, Minn.) got the Cardinals off and running with 8-1 and 8-6 victories.
Kaczorowski,
Brett Giesen (Cato, Wis.) and
