RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's tennis team picked up its third straight win over a Wisconsin school on Wednesday—and the Cardinals made it look easy in the process.
Saint Mary's posted five straight-set singles wins—dropping just a combined nine games—while cruising to wins in all three doubles matches en route to a 9-0 nonconference win over UW-River Falls Wednesday afternoon.
"The ladies played very well today," said Saint Mary's coach
Jeff Halberg, whose Cardinals entered Wednesday's match on the heels of back-to-back wins over UW-Stevens Point and St. Norbert on Sunday. "We got solid performances up and down the lineup."

Megan Vandenberg (De Pere, Wis.),
Julia Boeve (St. James, Minn.),
Haley Jorgensen (Fallon, Nev.), and
Sheyenne Bauer (Cannon Falls, Minn.) picked up straight-set singles wins, while
Summer Lardy (Richmond, Minn.) outlasted UW-River Falls' Taylor Norby 6-0, 3-6, 13-11 for Saint Mary's sixth singles victory.

Kirsten Hoffmann (Apple Valley, Minn.), Vandenberg/Boeve, ad Jorgensen/
Marissa Kinzer (Aitkin, Minn.) collected 8-3, 8-1, and 8-3 wins in the three doubles matches, respectively, to complete the sweep.
The Cardinals (10-5 overall) The return to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play this weekend, heading to Northfield, Minn., for an 11 a.m. showdown with St. Olaf on Saturday, before returning home to the Winona Tennis Center for a 12:30 p.m. conference matchup with Gustavus on Sunday.
