HAM LAKE, Minn. —
Blair Sanders (Lee's Summit, Mo.) put together the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota's best round during the opening day of the Augsburg Invitational Saturday afternoon, shooting a five-over-par 77.
On Sunday, Sanders was back in the spotlight, as the Cardinal freshman aced the 190-yard fourth hole at Majestic Oaks Golf Course.
Sanders took advantage of the ace, shooting 78 to lead the Cardinals to an 18
th -place finish.
David Iten (Fridley, Minn.) finished with a 79 on Sunday to go with his opening-round 90 to finish with a 167.
Kyle Brodt (Roseville, Min.) added an 82 to go with a Day 1 80 to finish at 162, while
Bryce Galewski (Winona, Minn.) added a second-round 99 to finish at 181.
Owen Blakely (88-84—172) and
Chad Cesarz (Jackson, Mich. / 88-88-176) rounded out the Cardinals' lineup.
Host Augsburg won the tournament, carding a 159, while Augsburg's second team added a second-place 664. Brett Gaustad of Augsburg won medalist honors, finishing with a five-over-par 149.
The Cardinals are back in action next weekend, traveling to the Randall Oaks Country Club in Dundee, Ill., to take part in the 36-hole Tim Kopka Memorial Tournament, hosted by Carthage College.
