WINONA, Minn. — For the second year in a row, Saint Mary's University of Minnesota's
Becca Dup (Albert Lea, Minn.) was untouchable in the long jump—not to mention the triple jump this season—at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.

But this year—despite defending her long jump title and adding a triple jump title—the ending was a bit different.

And what an ending it was.

Dup, who blew away the rest of the field in sweeping the long and triple jumps—again—was named the MIAC's Outstanding Women's Field Athlete of the Meet, it was announced Thursday.

But wait, there's more.

Along with her Athlete of the Meet honor, Dup's school record-tying performance in the triple jump—the ninth-longest leap in Division III this season—also earned her MIAC's Outstanding Women's Performance of the Meet.

Dup becomes the first Saint Mary's athlete—male or female—to earn the Outstanding Field Athlete and Outstanding Performance honors, since Andrew Brueggen following the 2011 MIAC Indoor Championships.

The Cardinal junior kicked off her indoor championships by posting a winning leap of 5.38 meters on her fourth attempts in the long jump—easily outdistancing St. Thomas' Katie Murray, who finished a distant second at 5.23 meters.

And Dup wasn't finished.

In fact, as good as she was in the long jump—she was even better the following day in the triple jump, delivering a school record-tying mark of 11.74 meters in her final leap to finish more than 70 centimeters ahead of runner-up Abigail Van Goethem's best jump of 11.00 meters.

Dup's record-setting 11.74-meter triple jump—originally set at the Luther Alumni Open on Feb. 3 and matched at the MIAC Championships—currently ranks her ninth in the country. Dup—who made her first national championships appearance at the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships last May—will find out her indoor national championship fate on Sunday.

The MIAC also announced on Thursday the 11th annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship teams for men's and women's indoor track and field, which included Saint Mary's Connor Nicholas (Las Vegas, Nev.) and
Maria Missurelli (Franklin, Wis.)
