• 2020 RECAP: The Norse came up empty during the pandemic-shortened fall-to-spring 2020 season, suffering through an 0-8 showing, with all eight matches coming in American Rivers Conference play. … Luther heads into the weekend looking for its first win since a 3-1 win over Buena Vista on Oct. 25, 2019, a span of 12 straight losses.
• ON THE ATTACK: Jess Callahan closed out the year as the team’s top offensive weapon, recording 92 kills in eight matches (3.04 kps), while hitting .204. … Coranda Vickerman chipped in 47 kills (1.74 kps) and Aria Schlelker tallied 41 kills (1.52 kps). … Vickerman hit a team-best .227, connecting on 47 of 150 attempts with 15 errors.
• SETTING THE STAGE: Haley Becker and Callahan shared the setting duties for the Norse a year ago, combining for 190 of the team’s 220 assists. Becker dished out a team-high 109 helpers (4.04 aps), with Callahan chipping in 81 (3.00 aps). … Becker recorded 10 or more assists in seven of the team’s eight matches — including a season-high 25 assists vs. Simpson on March 13. Callahan, meanwhile, had three matches with 10 or more assists, highlighted by a 22-assist performance against Simpson on March 13.
• DIGGING IN: Anna Jenewein surpassed the 100-dig mark to lead the way for the Norse a year ago, finishing with 102 digs, while Callahan (66) and Caylee Christian (56) were second and third in digs. … Jenewein had 10 or more digs in six of the team’s eight matches, including a season-best 21 digs against Simpson on March 13.
• THIS AND THAT: As a team, Luther delivered 2245 kills in eight matches (9.1 kps) and hit .132 a year ago.
